Oscar Piastri has been crushingly tipped to end McLaren's 17-year wait for the F1 drivers' championship, according to the results of a RacingNews365 poll. Victory in Saudi Arabia last time out, coupled with a fourth-place finish for team-mate Lando Norris was enough for Piastri to climb to the head of the standings for the first time. He has three wins to Norris's one this season, with the Briton struggling to feel comfortable in the MCL39. After the result in Jeddah, RacingNews365 ran a poll asking if Piastri was McLaren's best hope of landing the drivers' championship since Lewis Hamilton in 2008. In the verdict passed by F1 fans, Piastri scooped a massive 91.83% of votes, with Norris receiving just 6.21%. However, 1.96% of people believed that neither Piastri or Norris would be the driver to win the championship, and that a replacement would be needed. Is Oscar Piastri McLaren's best hope for F1 drivers' title?
