Station wagons have been on a seemingly never-ending decline for decades now. The US has abandoned them more than other countries, but even across the world, tastes have shifted more toward SUVs and crossovers. So, as fewer people have been buying wagons, automakers haven't been offering as many. There's one weird part of the market, though, that seems to be keeping the long-roof car alive: high-performance vehicles. We've already seen this happen with Audi and the RS6 Avant, and, according to BMW Blog, the same is happening with BMW and the M5.
