The 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season kicks off Sunday with the Daytona 500 — the biggest race on the schedule. But, as it often happens when NASCAR is at Daytona, Mother Nature may have an impact on race day and make her presence felt.
So what’s the weather for the 2025 Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway? The green flag is set to fly at 2:30 p.m. ET on Fox.
According to The Weather Channel, Sunday’s forecast for Daytona Beach, Florida is a high of 82 degrees with a 40 percent chance of rain and 20- to 30-mile-an-hour winds: “Windy with showers developing later in the day.” Rain could impact the second half of the race, if not the whole thing.

Additionally, there is a 60 percent chance of rain in Daytona Beach on Friday afternoon but sun and only a 19 percent chance of rain on Saturday.
This week, weather has already had an impact on Daytona International Speedway with the track being under a lightning hold Thursday afternoon, leading to the cancellation of multiple on-track events, including NASCAR Truck Series practice.
