FOX Sports' extensive use of drone footage in NASCAR and other sporting leagues will become a regular feature during its IndyCar Series broadcasts.
RACER has learned Beverly Hills Aerials will continue to act as FOX Sports' service provider with live drone feeds as it incorporates its movement-oriented production style into its brand-new presentation of IndyCar on FOX.
Through its former broadcast partner NBC, drone footage was trialed in a limited capacity during a recent running of the Indianapolis 500, but was not utilized at any other events.
The switch from NBC to FOX has been impactful for the series owned by Roger Penske. Along with a new commentary leader in Will Buxton, the first of three driver promos featuring Josef Newgarden has received widespread praise and onboarding of another FOX Sports production tool with the use of The Driver's Eye inside-the-helmet cameras will bring a distinctly different look and sound to its coverage.
