The goal for IndyCar's first season on FOX to include the miniature Drivers' Eye camera placed inside the helmet is going forward as planned, but RACER has learned its use is currently planned for four events rather than the entire 17-race season.

Unless a change is made in the coming weeks, the series and FOX Sports have targeted four races with four drivers in those races to carry the Drivers' Eye cameras.

Owing to the launch of the new multi-year broadcast partnership, a desire to get the first few races completed before adding a new feature is said to be the reason for the downsized Drivers' Eye schedule.

The series is considering testing the video system during a practice session with one driver at April's Acura Long Beach Grand Prix, but the intent to go live with the new cockpit view is being held for a race after Long Beach – which leaves Barber Motorsports Park and the Indianapolis Grand Prix – as warm-ups before May's Indianapolis 500.
