Indycar drivers crash before the green flag and have a heated post-race confrontation
Today, the NTT Indycar Series hosted the Thermal Club Grand Prix. At the start of the race, there was drama.

Before the green flag even dropped, the two drivers fought for space into turn 15. It appeared that Defrancesco missed the apex. With McLaughlin on his outside, Defrancesco clipped him in the right rear.
McLaughlin was sent spinning into the sand. Defrancesco spun as well. Indycar still dropped the green flag as both drivers were able to continue.
After the race, the Indycar drivers had a heated exchange…
Devlin Defrancesco: “Are you (expletive) blind, really?”
Scott McLaughlin: “Yeah, I am.”
The two drivers stepped towards each other, coming face to face and pointing fingers.
McLaughlin: “You (expletive) drove into me!”
Defrancesco: “We’re suppose to be side-by-side in turn 15. You closed the (expletive) door!”
McLaughlin: “You got a drive through [penalty] for a reason.”
Defrancesco: “I’ll show you the video.”
McLaughlin: “Okay. Show me the video. You got a drive through for a reason.”
Defrancesco: “You ran into the side of me.”
McLaughlin: “Oh Okay. I’m on the outside!”
