A lot happened during the first night of the supercross in Paris. Favorites like Jett Lawrence, Tom Vialle and Jo Shimoda did not make it to the podium.
In the SX1 class there was an exciting first final. Jett Lawrence was the strongest in this but behind him there was a fierce battle for second place. Malcolm Stewart managed to claim this position and finished ahead of Webb, Dylan Ferrandis and Hunter Lawrence.
In the second final Lawrence was again in the lead until he came into contact with a backmarker and crashed. The victory went to Webb ahead of Stewart and Hunter Lawrence. Jett Lawrence only finished thirteenth, which made him lose a lot of points.
In the third final, Lawrence put things in order. He dominated the race and won ahead of Webb and Stewart.
Webb took the day’s victory in the SX1 class ahead of Stewart and Dylan Ferrandis. Jett Lawrence ended the first day in fifth place.
In the SX2 class, Tom Vialle crashed hard in the whoops while riding in the lead in the first final. Shimoda took advantage of this and won ahead of Calvin Fonvieille and Anthony Bourdon. Tom Vialle had to settle for twelfth place.
In the second and third finals, Vialle did manage to win. Shimoda came second in the second final and put Vialle under a lot of pressure in the third final. Due to a crash, he had to leave the race injured and therefore had to leave second place to Bourdon. Mathys Boisrame came in a strong third ahead of Maxime Desprey and Brice Maylin.
At the end of the first evening, Anthony Bourdon emerged as the winner ahead of Fonvieille and Desprey. Despite his crash in the first moto, Vialle still finished fourth!
