After three intense rounds of the MX2 World Championship, the Van Venrooy KTM team returned to the Netherlands to contest the opening round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross at Harfsen. Having spent a year away from the series, it was a welcome sight to see the team back in the paddock, and they made their presence felt in spectacular fashion.

Cas Valk, who has made an impressive start to his rookie MX2 GP campaign, carried his Grand Prix speed into the domestic scene and delivered a commanding performance in front of his home fans. The Dutch talent showcased his class, going 1-1 on the day to take the championship lead.

In the first moto, Valk grabbed the holeshot and controlled the race from start to finish, never giving his rivals a chance. The second moto required a bit more work after a less-than-ideal start, but Valk wasted no time slicing through the pack with a series of decisive passes. Once he hit the front, there was no looking back, securing yet another race win and cementing his status as the early championship leader.

With a flawless opening round, Valk now carries the red plate into the next round of the Dutch Masters. However, there's no time to dwell on the success as the Van Venrooy KTM team immediately shifts focus back to the MX2 World Championship. The fourth round takes place in the deep sand of Riola Siola in Sardinia – conditions that should suit Valk perfectly as he looks to continue his strong form on the international stage.

The Dutchman's momentum is building, and with performances like this, he is proving to be a serious contender both at home and on the world stage.

Cas Valk (1st overall): I had an amazing day in Harfsen to take the pole position and win both moto's! Even a holeshot in race one, it has been a long time since I took a holeshot (laughs). I am really happy with the riding, speed and fitness so let's keep working!
