Courtney Duncan second in Turkish Grand Prix

F&H Racing’s Courtney Duncan has finished second in the final round of the Women’s World Championship in Turkey. Duncan managed to win the first moto in convincing fashion. In the second moto she came back to second place after a bad start. With these results, she came just short of the Grand Prix victory and finished second.

The Afyonkarahisar circuit suited Duncan well on Saturday. She managed to set a second time in time practice and went into the first moto with a good feeling.

A good start ensured that she immediately took the lead in the race. She had a good rhythm and started to run away from the competition. Duncan took control of the entire race and won the moto.

The second moto was held on Sunday morning. The organization had made the track very wet, which made the conditions difficult. In this moto it took a while for her to find the right rhythm. Duncan came back to the leading group from fourth place and started the attack. After taking over third place, she also managed to claim second place in the final stages. However, this was just not enough to win the Grand Prix and due to this she finished second in the day’s classification.

In the final standings of the world championship, Duncan finished in fifth place.

Quentin Prugnieres had a strong outing in the MX2 class. The Frenchman got a good start in the first moto and started the race around sixth place. With a good rhythm he came to the front and arrived in third place after fifteen minutes. However, in the heat of the moment, he came into contact with a back marker  and lost third place. Prugnieres kept the pace high but crashed and eventually had to settle for tenth place.

Prugnieres was motivated to finish higher in the second moto. He started strong and worked his way up to second place. He managed to keep this up for a long time. Just when he got passed, things went wrong and he crashed. Many places were lost and in the end he crossed the finish line in a disappointed thirteenth place.

In the general classification, Prugnieres finished in eleventh place and in the world championship standings he occupies twelfth place. F&H Racing will now start preparing for the final Grand Prix of the season in Spain.
