Luciano Benavides Claims First Stage Win in Dakar Rally

Luciano Benavides has secured his first stage win in this year's Dakar Rally. The Argentine rider won the fifth stage with a 47-second lead over Adrien van Beveren, while Nacho Cornejo finished third, 90 seconds behind.

Ross Branch and Ricky Brabec finished in fourth and fifth positions, while overall leader Daniel Sanders could only manage a 12th place finish.

Despite this, Sanders remains in the lead of the general classification, although his advantage over Tosha Schareina has decreased to 6 minutes and 52 seconds
