Nicolas Vennekens of VNT Racing managed to score his first World Championship points of the season during the first Grand Prix of the year in Cordoba, Argentina. Vennekens put in a strong performance and finished eighteenth in the first moto, earning three points.

For Nicolas, this was his first overseas Grand Prix. It was a bit of an adjustment at first, especially due to the heat, but he had prepared well and was ready to start the weekend.

During Saturday’s practices, Nicolas calmly explored the circuit. There were several long jumps, which he tested at a steady pace. The qualification heat began with a setback, as Nicolas got involved in a crash during the first lap and had to work his way back from the back of the pack. Throughout the race, he gained several positions and finished in 23rd place.

On Sunday morning, it rained in Cordoba, which changed the track conditions for the first moto. Nicolas rode a consistent race and managed to finish in a solid 18th place, earning three points.

However, the second moto started with another setback as he crashed out of the first corner and had to begin a comeback. He gave everything he had, but ultimately fell short of making it back into the points and finished in 24th place.

In the overall standings for the day, Nicolas finished in 22nd place. The championship will continue in two weeks in Cozar, Spain.
