The first 450 Supercross was held in East Rutherford on June 7, 1987, in Giants Stadium at The Meadowlands. It was the penultimate round of the 1987 season and Rick Johnson (Honda) won, but Jeff Ward’s fifth place was enough for him to clinch the 1987 AMA Supercross Championship. MetLife Stadium replaced Giants Stadium and held it first race in 2014.
