TAKE AN ANIMATED LAP OF SATURDAY’S MILLVILLE NATIONAL MOTOCROSS TRACK

Since there is little doubt as to who is going to win the 250 class at Millville’s Spring Creek racetrack (most likely the guy who won five of the last six —Jett Lawrence), all eyes will automatically turn to the two men fighting for the slimmest of leads in the 450 National Motocross Championship—Chase Sexton and Eli Tomac. Separated by only a single point at the halfway point in the 12-round motocross chase, the momentum has switched to Tomac, who has racked up three straight wins, while Sexton has remain consistent, although winless since his opening round victory at Pala. Ken Roczen in third in the title chase, but is 41 points adrift of the front of the pack. Of course, he got 41 points behind in the first six races and it could be possible for him to claw back that 41 points in the remaining six races. Not so for fourth place Jason Anderson. He is 61 points out of the lead—which based on the points structure means he only has five races left to close the gap. Fifth place Ryan Dungey has been awesome, not just because he is coming off five-years on the couch, but because he is the same polite, friendly and steady rider he was when he hung up his boots a long time ago. But, Ryan Dungey is 83 points out of the title chase. He would need Sexton and Toamc to DNF the next three motos to even draw even with them. Stay tuned! 2022 450 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS STANDINGS (After 6 of 12 rounds) 1. Chase Sexton (Hon)…268 2. Eli Tomac (Yam)…267 3. Ken Roczen (Hon)…227 4. Jason Anderson (Kaw)…207 5.
