TRIUMPH & JOEY SAVATGY PART COMPANY ON THE EVE OF THE SUPERMOROSS PLAYOFFS

Joey Savatgy

By mutual decision, Triumph Racing and Joey Savatgy came to a parting of the ways, leaving only Jalek Swoll on the Triumph heading to the thrre- race SuperMotocross playsoff, which both have qualifed for, but Saviatgy can’t race in. It appears that the Triumph 450 project, which was what Savaitgy was hired to test and eventually race will not be ready until some time in 2026. Thus, Triumph plans to “expand and improve” its 250 program. Given that Savatgy is not eligible to race the 250 East/West Supercross series after pointing out in 2018 and the Triumph 450 is still a full season away, Joey is between a rock and a hard place. Triumph says they offered Savatgy a chance to race the 250 outdoor series in 2025, but Joey needs to find a new team if he wants to move up the 450 class.

Triumph started the 2024 race season with a three-rider team. Jalek Swoll (33) is the only rider left as Evan Ferry (751) left the team early on and now Joey Savatgy will purse new opportunities.

To honour the initial two-year contract made by Triumph Racing, Joey was offered the chance to compete in 250 out door motocross Nationals only for 2025; however, it was ultimately decided by both parties that the best resolution was for Savatgy to move on with his career at another team.

“Everyone at Triumph wishes Joey well for the future, and thanks him for his contributions to our 2024 race program, ” said Triumph.

Joey Savautgy said, “Firstly, I would like to thank Triumph Racing for giving me the opportunity to race for the team this year. We were all hoping the AMA rule would be amended to allow me to race 250SX next year, but unfortunately, this didn’t happen. Triumph knows how hard it was for me to sit out half the season this year, and they were nice enough to give me the option to be released early in order for me to race a full season next year. Thanks again to the whole team and I wish them all the best for the future.”
