WATCH THE GLENDALE SUPERCROSS IN UNDER 15 MINUTES: JETT PULLS OUT, TRIUMPH TRIUMPHANT & SEXTON. WINS
Today at 09:30 AM
The big news of the night was that Jett Lawrence injured his knee early in the third 450 moto and, reminiscent of when Eli Tomac tore his Achilles tendon two years ago and rode off the track with his leg dangling, Jett did the same thing in Glendale (no official word on the condition of Jett’s knee until he gets checked out by his doctor).
In the 250 West event, Jordan Smith gave Triumph its first-ever AMA Supercross victory when he won the 250 West Triple Crown race. KTM’s Julien Beaumer had a night he’d like to forget in the 250 West. He holeshot both moto one and moto two and fell down in the same place on both starts. Julien did however, manage to come from the back in moto one to get a 4th and repeated it in the second moto with a last to 7th score. Thanks to a second place in the third moto, Julien ended up fourth overall and still has the points lead in the 250 West.
The big star in the 250 West was first year AMA Supercross Pro Cole Davis, who won the first two motos from start to finish, only to get knocked down in the third moto start and end up with an 18th place finish. But, with two firsts and an 18th, he still managed to end up third overall. Next week the 250 East starts in Tampa, Florida.
