Daytona 500 line-up set

The 67th annual Daytona 500 has its starting line-up and for the first time since 2015, there are more than 40 starters.

Chase Briscoe and Austin Cindric will lead the field to the green flag on Sunday afternoon (2:30pm ET, FOX). Bubba Wallace starts third after winning the first qualifying duel race. Erik Jones, who finished second to Cindric in the second duel qualifying race, starts fourth. William Byron, the defending Daytona 500 winner, starts fifth.

Denny Hamlin chases his fourth Daytona 500 win from the eighth starting position. Joey Logano begins his Cup Series title defense from the 10th starting position.

Justin Allgaier starts 19th in the Cup Series debut for JR Motorsports. Kyle Busch starts 21st in his 20th start in the Daytona 500. Busch is still looking for his first win in the event.

Shane van Gisbergen begins his rookie Cup Series season from the 26th starting position. Martin Truex Jr. and Jimmie Johnson, the two former champions who qualified on speed for the Daytona 500, start 39th and 40th respectively.

And the 41st starter is Helio Castroneves. The open-wheel ace makes his Cup Series debut by falling back on the Open Exemption Provisional as NASCAR expands the field to 41 drivers.

The field comprises 17 Chevrolet drivers, 13 Ford drivers, and 11 Toyota drivers.

There are eight former Daytona 500 winners in the field: William Byron (2024), Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (2023), Austin Cindric (2022), Michael McDowell (2021), Denny Hamlin (2016, '19, '20), Austin Dillon (2018), Jimmie Johnson (2006, '13), and Joey Logano (2015).

Chandler Smith, Anthony Alfredo, BJ McLeod, and JJ Yeley were the drivers who failed to qualify for the Daytona 500.
