Former NASCAR owner burned in house fire

A former NASCAR team owner suffered serious burns in a North Carolina house fire earlier this month.

Bob Rahilly, who co-owned RahMoc Enterprises, sustained third-degree burns after his house in Union County burned down, according to FDNY Racing.

Rahilly was a longtime crew chief for FDNY Racing, and the team offered its thoughts and prayers.

Officials said the fire broke out at Rahilly‘s home on Stevens Mill Road early in the morning on Jan. 12.

Several fire departments helped extinguish the flames. Hemby Bridge Fire shared images of the fire when it was active that showed massive flames coming from the house.

According to Rahilly‘s husband, the former owner could be held at the Wake Forest Baptist Burn Center for at least two months. He said Rahilly also sustained cuts when a sliding glass door exploded in the fire.

RahMoc Enterprises competed in NASCAR‘s Cup Series from 1978-1992. The team won four races, all with Neil Bonnett behind the wheel.
