The NASCAR team sued Hooters due to unpaid sponsorship funds for Chase Elliott and the No. 9 team

In the 2024 season, Hooters was signed to be the primary sponsor of Chase Elliott for three NASCAR Cup Series races. In addition, the company served as an associate sponsor.

The cost of that deal was $1.75M.

In July, Hendrick Motorsports terminated the deal prematurely. This came after the company failed to meet payment obligations.

The lawsuit was opened by HMS Holdings LLC.

Last year, Hendrick Motorsports opened a lawsuit. They were seeking $1.705M due to unpaid sponsorship funds.

Now, Hooters has settled the lawsuit. They have agreed to pay $900,000 per a report from Bob Pockrass.

Hooters first joined Hendrick Motorsports in the 2017 season.

Chase Elliott has a new sponsor for the 2025 season. Amazon Prime Video will sponsor the No. 9 in three races. Other primary sponsors include NAPA Auto Parts, UniFirst, Kelley Blue Book, and LLumar.
