JR Motorsports is making their NASCAR Cup Series debut in 2025

Justin Allgaier will drive the No. 40 car fielded by JR Motorsports
After years of discussion to do so, JR Motorsports is entering the NASCAR Cup Series. They’ll run their first race in the Daytona 500.

Justin Allgaier has been selected as the driver. He currently drives full-time for JR Motorsports in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and is the defending series champion.
Greg Ives will serve as the crew chief for the entry.
Traveller Whiskey will be the primary sponsor for the car. The company is owned by Chris Stapleton.
Allgaier has run 82 NASCAR Cup Series races. He made his debut in 2013 and ran one race last season. He’s collected one top-10 finish.
Outside of the 2025 Daytona 500, JR Motorsports made no additional announcements of plans for future Cup races.
