The Chili Bowl Nationals is coming to a close. It’s the biggest race of the year in the world of dirt midget racing.

Friday night, the Chili Bowl Nationals hosted the final preliminary show ahead of Saturday’s finale. Hard Knox Night brought drama and hot tempers.

Watch the Ricky Stenhouse Jr vs Logan Seavey video below.

Stenhouse Jr and Seavey were in a battle for the win in the first qualifier of the night. On the final lap, Seavey slid him but couldn’t clear him. Instead, Seavey forced Stenhouse Jr to run wide.

The move gave Seavey the 4th position. He drove off, setting himself up for a start of 7th for Friday’s main event.

After crossing the finishline, Stenhouse Jr drove into the back of Seavey. In the process, he climbed over his left rear and Stenhouse Jr was sent upside down.

Stenhouse Jr tossed his steering wheel after getting upside down. And after they climbed from the seat, they both had something to say…

Logan Seavey comments

“He kept on getting tight in front of me,” Logan Seavey told Flo Racing.

“He spun out in front of me. I caught him like ten breaks.”

“I pulled even down the backstretch. Any decent race car drivers knows I’m going to slid him into three. I’m not going to give him a chance to go by me.”

“He hustled really hard, trying to drive back around me. There wasn’t no driving around that one. It wasn’t like I came from two car lengths back and drove into his left rear.”

“I was in front of him going into the corner and I took the line.”

“I had really backed me up like 9 laps in a row. At that point, I can’t really cut him anymore breaks.”

“Then, we got a professional race car driver going full throttle after the checkered like it’s iRacing. He drove clear into my cockpit.”

“These cars are dangerous enough as it is. We don’t need to be doing that after the race.”

“If he thinks it warrants getting punched in the face like he punched Kyle Busch, come punch me in the face. But, don’t crash my racecar.”

“I hope at some point we talk it out.”

Ricky Stenhouse Jr comments

“Seavey just kinda put me in the fence,” Ricky Stenhouse Jr stated.

“I was a little frustrated. I didn’t mean to hit him in the left rear, I was just going to spin him around with his rear bumper. But, he checked up a little quicker than I thought.”

Stenhouse concluded, “Just frustrated.”

The final night of the Chili Bowl Nationals is set for Saturday January 18th. The race will pay $20,000 to the winner.
