Viking Motorsports confirms Matt DiBenedetto will return in 2025, switch to No. 99

Matt DiBenedetto will return to Viking Motorsports for the full 2025 Xfinity Series season, the team announced Thursday morning.

Viking Motorsports will switch to Chevrolet and field the No. 99 car after running the No. 38 Ford throughout the 2024 campaign in a partnership with RSS Racing.

In 28 races together last season, DiBenedetto earned a best finish of seventh (twice; Iowa Speedway and Michigan International Speedway) for Viking Motorsports. He scored an additional top-10 finish at Talladega Superspeedway.

Don Sackett, team owner of Viking Motorsports, announced last month that a switch was coming. “Our decision to be independent next year is based solely on what we think is in the best long-term interests for Viking,” he said.
