10/13/2024 09:43 AM
Toprak Razgatlioglu wins his second race of the weekend in dominant fashion as he destroys the Ducati riders in Estoril.
For the second time this weekend, Toprak Razgatlioglu is a World Superbike race winner. The Turkish rider had a third win stolen from him in the Superpole Race but made up for it in Race Two. Razgatlioglu did not win the Championship this weekend, as the Championship rolls on to the final round at Jerez.
Nicolo Bulega won the Superpole Race on Sunday morning, but he could not match Razgatlioglu. The Italian was pressured by his teammate but he was allowed to finish in second by Ducati.
After crashing on Saturday Alvaro Bautista took two third places on Sunday at Estoril. The two-time World Superbike Champion can no longer win a third but is chasing strong results to end his season.
Jonathan Rea had a promising start to the weekend but crashed in the Superpole Race. However, the Northern Irishman finished in fourth place to end his weekend in Portugal.
Completing the top five was Michael van der Mark on the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK machine. The Dutch rider continues his good 2024 form.
Team HRC was inside the top ten as Xavi Vierge crossed the line in sixth place. However, the team lost out on a potential second podium as Iker Lecuona crashed out of fourth.
Danilo Petrucci finished in seventh place in Race Two at Estoril. This result means that the Italian secured the Independent Riders Championship.
Andrea Iannone lost out on the Independent Riders Championship as he was beaten by Petrucci as he finished in eighth place.
Michael Ruben Rinaldi was in the top ten on the Motocorsa Ducati as he finished in ninth place.
Rounding out the top ten was the top Kawasaki rider Axel Bassani on the Kawasaki Racing Team machine.
Three British riders finished outside of the top ten as Scott Redding finished in 11th, Alex Lowes was in 12th and Bradley Ray finished in 14th.
