The World Supersport Championship leader, Adrian Huertas, secures pole position for the final round of the season.

The World Supersport Championship has gone down to the final round of the season. Title contenders Adrian Huertas and Stefano Manzi have two races left of the season to fight for the Supersport crown.

For the eighth time this season, Adrian Huertas claimed pole position. The Spaniard has secured pole at his home round as he looks to secure the World Supersport title on Saturday.

Jorge Navarro qualified in second place at Jerez. The Spanish rider was narrowly denied pole position by Huertas.

The top MV Agusta rider was Marcel Schroetter as he qualified in third place. However, the German rider did crash at the end of the session when he was setting a good lap time.

Championship challenger, Stefano Manzi, ended qualifying in fourth place. The Pata Yamaha Ten Kate rider needs to win both races this weekend and hope Huertas does not finish if he wants to win the title.

Despite blistering pace on the last lap Federico Caricasulo had to settle for fifth place. The Italian rider was setting red sectors for half of the lap on his final attempt but lost a lot of time in the second half of the lap.

Barni Spark Racing Team rider, Yari Montella, only managed to qualify in sixth place at the back of the second row. The Italian rider is out of Championship contention with only two races left of the year.

The top British rider in qualifying was Tom Booth-Amos on the PTR Triumph. The Brit qualified in seventh place but crashed at the end of the session and was limping away.

Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha rider, Valentin Debise, qualified for the final round in eighth place.

John McPhee took his Triumph to a ninth-place grid position after a positive Friday at Jerez.

Completing the top ten was Turkish rider, Can Oncu on the Kawasaki Puccetti Racing machine.
