Details have emerged on Lewis Hamilton's bedding in process with Ferrari after this week's test at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona.

Hamilton and Scuderia teammate Charles Leclerc ramped up their preparations for the upcoming 2025 F1 season with two days of running in Spain, on Tuesday and Wednesday, that followed their initial return to the track last week at Fiorano.

The test in Barcelona was conducted with the Italian outfit's 2023-spec car under F1's Testing of Previous Cars regulations, which limits teams to 1000 km per year spread across four days for their current race drivers.

Unfortunately, a minor crash suffered by Hamilton on Wednesday morning cut the day short.

The team remained on site but entrusted its car on Thursday to reserve driver Antonio Giovinazzi and Ferrari academy member Dino Beganovic.

Familiarization with Ferrari Systems

According to a report from Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport, Hamilton continued his familiarization with the team's systems and equipment.

Ferrari's starting procedures and its car's clutch operations were an important area of focus for the Briton during testing.

Additionally, Hamilton worked on adapting to Ferrari's braking system, which differs from the Carbon Industries brakes that he used at Mercedes

The Scuderia utilizes Brembo brake discs, and the seven-time world champion is said to have "praised the performance of the system," noting that it complements his driving style.

An Array of Adjustments and Changes

Hamilton also tested modifications to the pedals, which he had requested following his initial on-track run at Fiorano last Wednesday.

According to La Gazzetta, the 40-year-old found these changes "satisfactory," and Ferrari now plans to incorporate them into their 2025 car.

Hamilton and Leclerc will be back in Barcelona on February 4-5 as Ferrari conducts 2026 tyre testing for Pirelli, using a modified 'mule' version of last season's SF-24.

Both drivers will briefly sample their 2025 contender at Fiorano when Ferrari unveils its SF-25 in Maranello in February 19.

The team will then head to Bahrain for Formula 1's official three-day pre-season test that will take place from February 26-28.
