There's another Magnussen ready to hit the racing circuit, and this time, it's 15-year-old Luca Magnussen, the half-brother of former Haas Formula 1 driver Kevin Magnussen.

The young Dane will make his car racing debut this season in the British GB4 championship with Fortec Motorsport, therefore keeping it in the family by following in the footsteps of his father, sportscar veteran Jan Magnussen, and his older half-brother.

Luca has already made a name for himself in karting, winning the Danish X30 senior title in 2023. Now, he's taking the leap into single-seaters with Fortec, the same front-running outfit that powered Linus Granfors to last season's GB4 title.

With plenty of support from his racing-royalty family and an exciting new challenge ahead, the young gun is eager to prove himself on the track.

Luca's Big Move and Fortec's Warm Welcome

Stepping into his first season in car racing, Luca Magnussen expressed both excitement and gratitude for the opportunity.

"I'm incredibly happy to take the next step in my career and proud to team up with such a renowned and experienced team like Fortec Motorsports," he said.

"The team has already given me a warm welcome, and now I'm just excited to get started and show what I can do."

Fortec team boss Oliver Dutton is equally optimistic about Luca's potential, emphasizing his recruit's talent and drive.

"Luca has shown incredible potential during his karting career and particularly impressed us during his test at Donington Park," Dutton said.

"His dedication and skill make him a valuable addition to our line-up, and we are confident he will make significant strides this season."

Luca joins a competitive Fortec three-car team, partnering with Ginetta Junior graduate Thomas Ingram Hill and returning driver Jack Taylor.

With GB4 introducing a new car for the 2025 season, anticipation is high for an exciting year of racing.

The British GT support series kicks off in April at Donington Park, where Luca will officially begin his journey in car racing.

With Magnussen racing DNA in his veins and a strong team behind him, all eyes will be on Luca to see if he can carve out his own legacy in motorsport.
