Video: Lewis Hamilton's memorable first day at Ferrari

Lewis Hamilton's Ferrari era officially began on Monday. The seven-time World Champion arrived at the iconic Maranello headquarters, marking a historic moment in Formula 1.

Hamilton was greeted by Ferrari's top brass which included chairman John Elkann and Scuderia team principal Fred Vasseur.

The Briton's first day included a tour of the factory, meetings with key personnel, and a visit to the Fiorano track.

Hamilton is expected to take to the Fiorano track on Wednesday, but his immersion and preparations will continue over the coming weeks.

Hamilton capped his day with his new racing family with a heartfelt message on social media.

"Day one. I'm grateful to John Elkann, Benedetto Vigna and Fred Vasseur for their trust in me and making me part of this family," he wrote.

"I'm so excited to start this new era and to meet and work with a hugely talented and inspiring group of people, who have been so welcoming. I'm dedicated to bringing everything I have to deliver for the team, the wider organisation and the fans."
