Of all the things Nissan is famous for, autonomous driving technology isn't one of them; your Rogue won't park itself However, the Japanese brand has been quietly working away in research and development since 2017 to "tackle local transportation challenges" with autonomous driving. Its latest autonomous development vehicles are based on the Serena, one of Japan's best-selling kei-class minivans, and uses 14 cameras, nine radar sensors, and six lidar sensors. According to Nissan, one of the test vehicles with no driver in the car has navigated a public road in a "complex urban environment" for the first time in Japan. That environment was the Minato Mirai area in Yokohama.
