Ram Wants A Cheap Truck, And Stellantis Has Options

We've heard rumblings for years about Ram someday getting another pickup truck below the Ram 1500, and, importantly, one that would be more affordable. Those rumblings continue with a statement from Stellantis CFO Doug Ostermann. According to Bloomberg the executive told a conference hosted by Wolfe Research that the brand needs "to introduce kind of a lower-end trim of the new pickup to fill that gap." He said this in reference to the recently discontinued Ram 1500 Classic line, the continuation of the previous-generation Ram 1500. The good news for Ram is that Stellantis has a few products that we can see being adapted for Ram duty for less than a completely new from the ground up, product.
