The potential fault could cause a wheel to loosen and fall off the vehicle with owners asked to stop driving their cars until it is fixed, according to the recall notice.
Porsche Australia has recalled 199 examples of its 2023 to 2024 Porsche 911, 718 and Panamera models, citing a potential fault with its centre lock nuts which could cause a wheel to fall off.
The affected vehicles are stamped 2023 to 2024 models, but may have been sold at a later date.
The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: "Due to a manufacturing defect, the road wheel centre lock nuts may be defective. A defect could cause the lock nut to fracture and result in loosening of the wheel."
"Loosening of the wheel can result in a loss of the wheel and a loss of control over the vehicle. This can increase the risk of accidents, damage, injury or death to vehicle occupants and road users.
