The GWM Haval H6 GT has received several design revisions – but no specification changes – ahead of a PHEV variant due in early 2025, along with a more significant update to its standard H6 twin.
- 2025 GWM Haval H6 GT pricing and specifications
- Several running changes for coupe-styled mid-size SUV
- Updated petrol variant on sale now, H6 GT PHEV due by April 2025
- Priced from $45,490 drive-away
Petrol versions of the 2025 GWM Haval H6 GT coupe-styled family SUV have been updated before the arrival of a new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant by next April.
Due in local GWM dealerships this month, the updated Haval H6 GT petrol receives the same design changes applied to the previously-announced H6 GT PHEV, including clear-lens tail lights and a matte-black 'GWM' rear badge replacing the previous chrome 'HAVAL' script.
The 'H6' and '4WD' badges have also switched to a matte black finish instead of chrome – with '4WD' moved to the right side of the tailgate – while the 'GT' badge is now red.
GWM has added an "intelligent voice command" to the H6 GT's infotainment system for hands-free operation, while the Sapphire Blue exterior colour option has been deleted.
It is now available to order in Hamilton White, Atlantis Blue, Crayon Grey, Burgundy Red and Golden Black, with all colours except Hamilton White requiring a $495 metallic paint surcharge.
It follows a running change around 12 months ago which saw the older italicised Haval script replaced with its newer font across the brand’s wider SUV line-up, as GWM continues to streamline its branding in Australia.
MORE: 2024 GWM Haval H6 GT Ultra review
GWM Australia has confirmed there are no other specification changes to the H6 GT, nor price changes with the model continuing to retail for $45,490 drive-away for the Ultra AWD.
However, until 31 December 2024, the H6 GT Ultra is available with a $4500 saving at $40,990 in an end-of-year stock clearance offer.
The updated H6 GT petrol will be joined by a new PHEV variant between January and March 2025, with details for the electrified model confirmed last month.
Priced at $55,990 drive-away, the all-wheel-drive H6 GT PHEV is more-affordable than the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and an equivalent BYD Sealion 6, along with a Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Cruiser when on-road costs are included.
The H6 GT PHEV includes a 35.4kWh battery pack – almost identical in size to the now-discontinued Mazda MX-30 electric car – for a class-leading 180-kilometre electric-only driving range on the NEDC lab-test standard.
Both variants will be joined by a more-comprehensive update for the standard GWM Haval H6 between April and June 2025 with a significantly revised exterior, a new steering wheel, a redesigned centre console, and a "larger" infotainment touchscreen running the brand's newest software.
GWM has not detailed any similar changes to the H6 GT, which adds a coupe-styled body and a unique front design over the pre-facelift H6 mid-size SUV.
