Isuzu has facelifted the 2025 MU-X with a new look and some equipment updates, adding a new flagship trim level.
- 2025 Isuzu MU-X pricing and specifications
- SUV gains new X-Terrain flagship trim
- Price increases of between $1000 and $2000 for all variants
- Priced from $48,400 before on-road costs
Coinciding with a facelift, the 2025 Isuzu MU-X range has expanded with the addition of a new X-Terrain trim level.
The Isuzu MU-X seven-seat off-road SUV has inherited the updates applied to its D-Max sibling in Australia almost 12 months ago to keep it fresh against newer competitors, including the Ford Everest and Toyota Prado.
Prices across the whole range see a price increase between $1000 and $2000 depending on the trim.
The MU-X retains the 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine and the 1.9-litre turbo-diesel that was carried over from the D-Max in 2024.
The base LS-M (from $48,400) is the only two-wheel-drive MU-X available with the 1.9-litre engine, while buyers of the smaller engine have a choice of MU-X LS-M or LS-U trims in four-wheel drive—the latter two priced from $54,400 and $61,400 before on-road costs, respectively.
The 1.9-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine produces 110kW and 350Nm, while the 3.0-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder puts out 140kW and 450Nm and kicks off at $50,400 for the 4×2 LS-M variant.
A full list of 2025 Isuzu MU-X pricing can be found below.
Isuzu claims the 1.9-litre uses 7.4 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres for either 4×2 or 4×4 models – a fuel saving of almost 12 per cent compared with the 3.0-litre 4×4 MU-X.
All models are mated with a six-speed automatic transmission, with two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, joined by low-range capabilities and a rear locking differential.
Major updates have been made to the front and rear fascias with new headlights, tail-lights and front grille, an updated interior with volume and tuning dials for the infotainment screen, and new safety features.
The new X-Terrain trim separates itself from the LS-T trim with different 20-inch alloy wheels, red and grey stitching across the leather-accented interior, piano black and silver interior accents, red LED ambient interior lighting, black fender flares, lower body side skirts and underbody spoiler, and an exclusive slate grey metallic colour.
In terms of equipment updates to the model, Isuzu’s Rough Terrain Mode (RTM), an off-road-centric traction control system, has been refined to work in tandem with the rear differential lock, meaning traction control on the front with constant mechanical traction on the rear.
A new ‘GEN4’ stereo camera increases the reach of the advanced driver assistance systems with a 200 per cent increase in field of view and a 25 per cent increase in vehicle detection range.
The adaptive cruise control now works in tandem with the traffic sign recognition, lane keep assist now works from a standstill up to 140km/h, and rear cross-traffic brake is added to all models, as is a digital reverse camera.
The LS-T and X-Terrain trims have been fitted with a surround-view camera system that can be activated at any time while driving to provide more visibility in tight situations or monitor blind spots.
The LS-M receives an updated 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with wired Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, smartphone mirroring, and voice recognition. The LS-U, LS-T, and X-Terrain are fitted with a 9.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with satellite navigation, digital radio, and eight speakers.
Small changes have been made to the suspension across the entire range, with a 2mm increase in piston size and revised valving promise more high-speed stability and comfort.
Also standard across the range are safety features including radar cruise control with stop-and-go, autonomous emergency braking with turn assist, traffic sign recognition, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, trailer sway control, and eight airbags.
Isuzu’s seven-year capped-price servicing was replaced with a five-year flat-price servicing program in 2024, costing $469 each year – or $2345 over the five-year period.
