2025 Toyota RAV4 price and specs: Another update for hybrid SUV before new model

The hybrid-only Toyota RAV4 has gained new features in Australia, as part of what’s expected to be its final model update before it is overhauled in 2025.

The 2025 Toyota RAV4 has been updated in Australia with new technology ahead of a next-generation model expected to debut within 12 months.
The RAV4 – which has been sold only as a hybrid since June 2024 – is now fitted with wireless Android Auto connectivity, joining the existing wired version, as well as wireless and wired Apple CarPlay.
Also new are restyled ‘HEV’ badges on the front wheel arches and tailgate, while the blue accents inside the Toyota logos – previously used to distinguish hybrids from petrol-only models – have been removed, given all models are now hybrids.
The updates are listed in a December 2024 update of the RAV4 specification sheet on Toyota Australia’s website, but it is understood the upgrade may have taken place in November.

No price rises have been announced to accompany the changes, so it is expected pricing remains from $42,260 to $58,360 before on-road costs.
Five variants of the Toyota RAV4 are offered – GX, GXL, XSE, Cruiser and Edge – with front- or all-wheel drive, depending on model.
Powering the RAV4 is a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine aided by two electric motors to develop 160kW in front-wheel-drive (FWD) variants, with claimed fuel consumption of 4.7 litres per 100 kilometres.
AWD versions add another electric motor to spin the rear axle, increasing the power output to 163kW – with claimed fuel economy of 4.8L/100km. A 55L fuel tank is standard across the line-up.

Braked tow ratings range from 480kg (FWD) to 1500kg (AWD).
Boot space is claimed at 542L with the floor set at its upper level, or 580L when set at its lower level – something not possible in GX variants optioned with a full-sized spare wheel, rather than a space-saver.
Standard features in the GX grade include 17-inch alloy wheels, projector LED headlights, an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, 7.0-inch instrument display, fabric seats, push-button start, a six-speaker audio system, dual-zone climate control and a rear-view camera.
Every model is fitted as standard with autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and traffic sign recognition.
The GXL adds features such as 18-inch wheels and keyless entry, while the XSE includes black accents, a 10.5-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch instrument display, heated synthetic leather-look seats, and more.
A sunroof, leather-accented trim, ventilated front seats, JBL audio and more are added with the popular Cruiser trim, while the Edge gains 19-inch wheels, unique styling and synthetic seat trim, but loses the XSE and Cruiser’s power-adjustable driver’s seat.
