GWM cuts prices in Australia, new Jolion and H6 variants introduced
10/02/2024 09:54 PM
GWM has introduced new variants to the Haval Jolion and H6 line-ups, while drive-away prices have been cut for most of its vehicles in Australia.
GWM Australia has reduced drive-away prices for most vehicles across its SUV, ute and electric vehicle line-up, with the latest round of offers valid until 31 December 2024.
Drive-away prices for October to December 2024 have fallen between $1000 and $2000 compared to July and September for most GWM vehicles, including the Haval Jolion, Haval H6, Ora, Cannon Alpha, and Tank 300.
Headlining the price cuts is a further $2000 reduction to the GWM Ora electric car – after its price was last adjusted in August 2024 – now costing $33,990 drive-away for the Standard Range, $34,990 for the Extended Range, and $41,990 for the GT.
While the MG 4 is currently Australia's cheapest electric vehicle at $30,990 drive-away for the Excite 51 entry-level model until 30 October 2024, the GWM Ora Extended Range is the most-affordable EV with a WLTP-rated driving range above 400 kilometres.
GWM has also introduced two new variants – the 2024 GWM Haval Jolion Ultra petrol and 2024 GWM Haval H6 Vanta petrol – in Australia, while the Haval H6 Ultra AWD and Ute Cannon-X have been axed from their respective model line-ups.
The Haval Jolion Ultra petrol is an indirect replacement for the Jolion S last available to order in Australia at the end of 2023 with a higher-output 130kW/270Nm tune from its 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol, up from 105kW/270Nm in the standard Jolion Premium and Lux petrol models.

However it receives the different look first introduced with the Jolion Hybrid line-up earlier this year, which is slightly shorter than the standard Jolion but taller and wider.
Standard equipment for the Jolion Ultra petrol and Jolion Ultra Hybrid is mostly identical, with the petrol featuring black 18-inch alloy wheels and a space-saver spare wheel – the hybrid has black/silver wheels and a tyre repair kit.
Combined fuel consumption for the Jolion Ultra petrol is rated at 7.5L/100km, compared to 8.1L/100km for the Jolion Premium and Lux petrol variants and 5.1L/100km for the Jolion Hybrid.
The Haval Jolion Ultra petrol is priced from $32,990 drive-away – while the Ultra Hybrid it is based on retails for $37,990.

Meanwhile, the Haval H6 Vanta has been re-introduced after it was first launched in Australia at the start of 2022 as a limited edition model, ahead of a mid-life facelift for the H6 due between April and June 2025.
For a $1000 premium over the front-wheel-drive Haval H6 Ultra it is based on, the H6 Vanta adds a black front grille and black 18-inch alloy wheels, at $36,990 drive-away.
