Michael Jordan buys one of the fastest electric hypercars in the world

Former professional basketballer, Michael Jordan, has been revealed as the owner of a one-off Italian sports car, costing close to $4 million Australian dollars.

Former athlete and NASCAR team owner, Michael Jordan, has added a custom Italian hypercar to his impressive car collection.

Jordan's latest addition is a bespoke Pininfarina Battista Targamerica – a topless, electric hypercar with a price tag of approximately $3.7 million Australian dollars.

Like a standard Battista, the Targamerica packs four electric motors, capable of a whopping  1378kW and 2340Nm combined, with a claimed 0-100km sprint time of under two seconds.

The car is also equipped with a 120kWh battery, and can reportedly travel approximately 480km on a single charge.

The exterior and detailing is unique, boasting body panels finished in Liquido Gloss, which include Iconica Blu gloss accents – a combination inspired by the 1986 Ferrari Testarossa spider. And like a typical Battista, the car is complete with butterfly doors.

The cabin is finished in tan leather upholstery with touches of black, and houses a custom cigar holder and case, developed and designed in-house, as per Jordan's request.

The electric hypercar joins Jordan's iconic car collection, with the former basketballer owning an array of Ferraris including; a 488 Pista Spider, a 2001 550 Maranello, and a 1992 512TR, along with a 1984 Chevrolet Corvette C4, a 2010 Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir, and a 2023 Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution Roadster.

Michael Jordan recently listed his low-mileage Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 Edition, which has an asking price of almost $1 million Australian dollars.
