Police car crashes into limousine with Prime Minister of New Zealand on board – report

Move over Keystone Cops, New Zealand Police are on the job – and they’ve driven into the back of the Prime Minister’s limousine.
Officers in New Zealand have been left red-faced after a police vehicle drove into a state limousine with the country’s Prime Minister on board.
According to news wire service AP, the police car crashed into the back of the limousine transporting Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and Finance Minister Nicola Willis on the main road to Wellington Airport. No injuries have been reported.
It’s not known whether the police car was part of an escort at the time.

The rear of the limousine was damaged in the crash, with police confirming the incident is under investigation.
While media haven’t identified the type of limousine used by the PM, it’s believed New Zealand has a fleet of chauffeur-driven BMW 7 Series sedans for use by government leaders and dignitaries – though other luxury marques have also been used, including high-end models from Audi and Jaguar.
Prime Minister Luxon told reporters the accident was a “bit of a shock” but confirmed he was “fine”.
