Used car dealership offers $1000 discounts for 2024 Black Friday sales

Carbar is offering a free two-week subscription and waiving its upfront fees on a range of models, with customers potentially saving more than $1000.
Carbar has announced it will slash prices on a range of petrol, hybrid and electric vehicles included in its monthly subscription services during its 2024 Black Friday Sale event.
Carbar started as a virtual used car dealership in 2016 and since then, has expanded its operations to include private, fleet, and novated leasing.
According to the dealer, the sale started on 16 November 2024 and ends on 1 December 2024, with the first 10,000 participants potentially saving more than $1000 depending on the customer’s vehicle choice.
The discount prices are indicative of the free two-week subscription as well as Carbar waiving its upfront fees.
Some of the models included in Carbar’s 2024 Black Friday Sale include a 2022 Tesla Model 3, a 2021 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, a 2023 Volkswagen T-Roc and a 2024 Hyundai Venue.
Following a two-week notice, Carbar said, "there's no lock-in contract" and customers have the option to either swap/upgrade the rental car or cancel the subscription altogether.
Carbar said the Black Friday offer only extends to drivers aged 21 years old and above who live in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. Interested customers must use the promotional code ‘BLCK24’ at checkout to redeem the sale prices.
"This offer is ideal considering a car subscription but are still on the fence about it," Des Hang, the CEO of Carbar, said in a media statement.
"With these deals, there's little downside to giving it a go and seeing whether subscription suits your lifestyle and vehicle needs," he added.
Car-based subscriptions fall in the middle of leasing and rental agreements, where customers can temporarily own a vehicle and traditional ownership costs (like insurance) are generally included in the monthly fees.
