The 2025 F1 tests in Bahrain have ended. Here are the results with the overall time standings. The teams had three days to test themselves on the Sakhir circuit, chosen instead of Barcelona, which is usually colder at this time of year.
However, the ten teams were caught off guard by the weather, which was not the mild climate they expected. It was significantly colder in Bahrain, with a risk of rain.
On Wednesday, February 26, the fastest driver was Lando Norris in the McLaren with a time of 1:30.430. The top three were completed by George Russell (Mercedes) at +0.157 seconds and Max Verstappen (Red Bull) at +0.244 from the leader. Charles Leclerc was fourth with his Ferrari, followed by Carlos Sainz in the Williams. The other Ferrari, driven by Lewis Hamilton, was further behind, finishing outside the top 10 after a less-than-ideal first day.
Thursday, February 27, saw a shake-up in the standings. The fastest driver was Sainz, who went under Norris’ Day 1 time with a lap of 1:29.348. Second was Hamilton (who had been the fastest in the morning) at +0.031, with Leclerc third at +0.083 from his former teammate.
On the third and final day of testing, held on Friday, February 28, Ferrari continued to rack up laps but struggled compared to the previous day. Leclerc mentioned balance issues, while Hamilton encountered some problems towards the end, forcing him to cut his session short significantly.
