Charles Leclerc is being investigated by the FIA at the Singapore GP for an infringement on his Ferrari. The SF-24 of the Ferrari driver, already struggling during Free Practice 3, caught the attention of the stewards after returning to the pits for altered tire pressures. This matter was brought to the attention of the International Federation and could lead to a sanction or penalty.

The International Federation has a busy schedule in Singapore, starting with the new “anti-profanity” regulation introduced on the eve of the Marina Bay Grand Prix: President Mohammed Ben Sulayem made it clear that swearing will no longer be tolerated. This news has sparked immediate backlash in the paddock, particularly from the drivers.

There is also the issue of flexible wings, which will likely be a topic of debate for a long time. The Federation, which at Monza had stated that no changes were needed to the MCL38, has reversed its position: the mini-DRS used in Baku could not, in fact, be tolerated, and McLaren will be forced to make adjustments.

Now, Charles Leclerc is under the stewards’ scrutiny. The Monegasque driver, already not performing particularly well in the last practice session, was caught by Joe Bauer with altered tire pressures in the pit lane. This situation relates to TD003, a topic heavily debated in Formula 1 a few seasons ago.

Charles Leclerc (#16) will be heard by the stewards at 13:45, and an official decision is expected shortly after. A fine seems to be the most appropriate penalty for this type of infringement during Free Practice, but there could be closer scrutiny for the rest of the Singapore F1 weekend.
