Can Ferrari win in Mexico too? Charles Leclerc's prediction in press conference

A confident and optimistic Charles Leclerc appeared at the press conference on the eve of the Mexican Grand Prix, with the Monegasque driver aiming for his fourth win of the 2024 Formula 1 season at the Hermanos Rodriguez circuit, knowing he can rely on an SF-24 that, on paper, should once again provide a high level of competitiveness.
“It’s very difficult to predict race by race this season,” began number 16. “Last weekend went extremely well for us. We were particularly strong in the race and on pace, while in qualifying we struggled a bit more. On paper, Mexico should be a rather favorable track for us. However, this doesn’t mean we’ll replicate the same kind of performance we had in Austin.” – the Monegasque driver explained on Thursday,
“We need to focus on ourselves and on Free Practice 2, as far as I’m concerned, because Ollie (Bearman) will be in the car for FP1 in my place. I’ll try to get the best possible result and then we’ll see. What I can say, though, is that we haven’t always had the fastest car, but we’ve made the most of our opportunities. In Texas, we obviously had the fastest car. Naturally, we want to build on that performance.” – the Ferrari driver added.
A 2024 Formula 1 championship still wide open
Speaking about the battle for the Constructors’ Championship, where Ferrari is currently 48 points behind McLaren, Charles Leclerc added: “Clearly, this is a very important phase of the season. There are only five races left, and there’s still a possible Constructors’ title, so I’ll absolutely give everything to try and bring it home. I know I talk a bit too much when I say we can still win the Constructors’ Championship. But if we work as well in the remaining races as we did in Texas, then it will really be possible.” – the Monegasque driver concluded ahead of the 2024 Formula 1 Mexico City Grand Prix.
