Carlos Sainz to Red Bull in 2025: Christian Horner comments on latest crazy F1 market rumor
Today at 10:04 AM
Despite his official signing with Williams for next Formula 1 season, Carlos Sainz's future for 2025 has come into question again following the latest market rumors circulating in recent days.
According to reports, Red Bull, still undecided about the future of an increasingly underperforming Sergio Perez, has renewed its strong interest in the Spaniard, as well as in Franco Colapinto.
While many believed that Christian Horner's visit to the Williams motorhome was to explore the potential of the Argentine talent, some suggest that the Red Bull team principal actually asked James Vowles about Carlos Sainz’s availability to return to the Red Bull family, with Franco Colapinto expected to stay in his current position for another year.
Christian Horner denies it
Asked by TalkSPORT about the sensational rumor, Horner denied it, stating: "There's always a lot of speculation in the Formula 1 paddock." – he pointed out – "Carlos Sainz will be a Williams driver next year. He's a great driver, recently achieving a fantastic win in Mexico, and I think he'll be very good for that team."
He added: "Carlos is committed to Williams and isn't part of our plans for next year."
No doubts from James Vowles, however, who is firmly confident in Williams' driver choices: "I believe we'll have the best lineup on the grid, not only in terms of driving but also in leading the team. This will help motivate us and push us forward. Carlos has driven against Lando Norris and succeeded against Charles Leclerc. There's almost no difference between these two drivers. He raced against Max Verstappen in his first year at Toro Rosso and was exceptional against him. He has always been tested and has held his own against everyone." – the Williams team principal concluded.
