Ferrari fans were not expecting a 2024 Formula 1 championship like the one they are experiencing. After a rather complicated 2023, three victories and many podiums have come in the second season under Frederic Vasseur's management. Thanks to the aerodynamic updates introduced throughout the year, Ferrari has figured out how to make the SF-24 work, and on the eve of the United States GP weekend in Austin, Ferrari can still hope to win the Constructors’ Championship.

The Maranello team is currently seventy-five points behind McLaren, and the upcoming races will be crucial for the Italian team’s title hopes. Mexico and Las Vegas could be the best opportunities to return to victory, although according to Carlos Sainz, it will be essential to perform well at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas.

Carlos Sainz’s comments in the press conference
During the press conference for the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Carlos Sainz took stock of Ferrari’s season and how the updates have worked throughout the year. “After Monza, all the circuits have shown that the updates we brought were the right ones,” the Spaniard said.

“However, I've said multiple times that Austin will be a key test to understand how much we are moving in the right direction,” Carlos Sainz added. “There are six races left, and there are still opportunities to get podiums and victories.”

But can Ferrari still realistically hope for the Championship? “The next two races will give us a clearer idea of what our ambitions can be,” Carlos Sainz explained. “We will need to show that we can be competitive even on more standard tracks, with long corners. Certainly, we've worked hard in recent weeks, even though several teams will be bringing updates.” – the Spanish driver concluded.
