Future with Hamilton
After Sebastian Vettel, Carlos Sainz – and the single race with Oliver Bearman – Charles Leclerc will share the Ferrari garage in 2025 with a new teammate: Lewis Hamilton.
Certainly the most prominent among those he has had so far, as we're talking about the driver with the most world titles (tied with Michael Schumacher), victories, and pole positions in Formula 1 history.
There is great anticipation to see how Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton will relate, given that the Monegasque is in his prime at 27, while the English champion is coming off a lackluster season and will reach the milestone of 40 years in January.
Charles and Lewis
“Having him alongside me is something that excites me enormously. Because we're talking about Lewis Hamilton, his record is insane. For me, it will be an incredible opportunity to learn and observe how he works,” Leclerc explained in an interview with *L'Équipe*, adding: “And the team will discover another approach, it will be fantastic. I'm eager to show what I'm capable of with Lewis in the same car.”
But what is the current relationship between Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton? Charles Leclerc shared: “We've already been talking in past years, but since we found out we'll be teammates, we've intensified our conversations. We discuss common passions, like music and fashion, while on the sporting side, we both remain vague to avoid revealing secrets. We haven't had dinner together yet, but there will be an opportunity between January and March when we spend time together.”
On the perennial issue of first and second drivers, which has essentially never been clarified since Charles Leclerc joined Ferrari, he concluded: “It would be exceptional to fight with Lewis for the title. And if there aren't other drivers in contention, I'm convinced Vasseur won't favor one of us.”
