Charles Leclerc on Fred Vasseur's work at Ferrari: "The change in mentality has been radical"

Speaking on the Beyond The Grid podcast, Charles Leclerc discussed how Scuderia Ferrari has changed since December 2022, when Fred Vasseur came “into service.” "It's very different. Ferrari is such a big team, with so much history, that it's not easy to do something like this. I think there are some fundamental values of Ferrari that will never change and should never change, because the value of passion is something you only find at Ferrari, and it's absolutely incredible."

"At the same time, though, it can be a problem in some difficult moments, because passion also means emotion, and sometimes, when things go wrong, it can affect people inside the team more than in any other team. But this also pushes people to give 200% to do everything they can to get the team out of tough moments." – he pointed out.
Over the years, Ferrari has fallen victim to a stagnation in attitudes, which has also led to a progressive regression of the team. With Charles Leclerc having experienced two “eras” at Ferrari, the Monegasque was able to confirm that Frederic Vasseur has a strong ability to get the best out of every individual.
"I believe Fred has changed several things that have made a big difference," explained the Monegasque. "First of all, trying to understand every single individual within the team, trying to understand the situation, and putting them in the best possible conditions to extract the maximum from each person. This is definitely one of Fred’s greatest strengths. The other thing is that he always seems to act as a stabilizing force within the team."
Charles Leclerc also pointed out one of Frederic Vasseur's qualities, considering it a fundamental ingredient for working in a team like Ferrari. "He is very emotional, and this is a very positive aspect for a team like Ferrari. It's what Ferrari needs, so I am completely confident and have full trust in what Fred does." – the Monegasque driver concluded.
