Early news about 2025 Ferrari F1 car: "positive" signs from Project 677
Today at 03:29 AM
Ferrari’s 2025 F1 car is already showing promise: Project 677 is delivering positive signals. This is according to Ferrari team principal Frédéric Vasseur, interviewed by La Stampa in Abu Dhabi. The Prancing Horse had to settle for second place, beaten by Andrea Stella and his McLaren, but the team has full confidence in its capabilities for the next season.
There is still much to be said about Abu Dhabi and the entire season that has just ended. Some praise Maranello’s growth, which managed to correct its development direction after losing its way mid-season. Others question whether, given the final result, there is real satisfaction to be had: after all, they argue, Ferrari should aim (only) for victory.
Whatever opinions may circulate around the Prancing Horse, Frédéric Vasseur's plan remains unchanged. The French engineer knows that, for those dressed in Red, the only goal is to win. An emblematic response was given by Maranello’s team principal to Jacopo D'Orsi, a journalist from La Stampa: "Would I bet on Hamilton as champion in 2025? I would bet on Ferrari."
Ferrari, Project 677 shows promise: 2025 starts today
To even have a chance of seeing Lewis Hamilton—or Charles Leclerc—crowned champion in 2025, the next Red car needs to be a winning one. According to Frédéric Vasseur, the foundations are already there: "On paper, it's very good, but in Formula 1 everything is relative; doing well doesn't necessarily mean being ahead of the others."
"We know we have very strong rivals like Red Bull and McLaren," emphasized the Frenchman. "Every morning, we work on the data from the previous evening. We want to extract the maximum from the start, as it will soon be necessary to focus on 2026 and the new regulations."
There was also a comment about the two major new arrivals at Maranello, both from Mercedes: Loic Serra, the new technical director, and Jérôme D'Ambrosio. "[Serra has integrated] fantastically, as has my deputy Jérôme D'Ambrosio, whom I have known since the Formula Renault days. They will be part of the improvement; the dynamic is very positive."
