Teams unveiled their car liveries at the major event at the O2 Arena in London. Shortly after revealing the stunning livery, Ferrari released photos of the real SF25, the same one that will be seen on track at Fiorano and later in Bahrain. After hearing from Loic Serra, it is now the turn of Power Unit director Enrico Gualtieri to discuss Maranello's new engine.
Expectations for Ferrari are high at the start of this racing season. All team leaders express great confidence in Project 677, the initiative that could return the Prancing Horse to the top of Formula 1, where it has been absent for nearly 20 years. With two drivers of the caliber of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, nothing less than a full championship fight is expected.
However, the competition is fierce and more aggressive than ever. To be fully prepared, Maranello is already firing up the engines. Leclerc will take to the track with the new SF25 in the morning before handing over the seat to Hamilton in the afternoon. It will be fascinating to hear the drivers’ statements at the end of the day to grasp their initial impressions.
After technical director Loic Serra confirmed a “99% revolution,” it is now Enrico Gualtieri's turn to speak as head of the Power Unit department. "This moment is the culmination of weeks of hard work and passion, and we are ready to begin the new season with great enthusiasm."
"The 2025 power unit has been developed under regulations that have been frozen since 2022, but our commitment to extracting the maximum potential from every component has never changed. We have worked intensively on all control strategies and procedures to ensure that every single component can perform at its best on every circuit and in every event."
"Reliability remains an absolute priority, and we continue to focus on preparation, quality, and consistency of the components to perform at the highest level on track. The 2025 season presents unique challenges, but we are ready to face them with an obsessive attention to detail. We are confident that the SF-25 will allow us to play our cards right to achieve our goals." – the Ferrari head of power unit concluded.
