UniCredit is a new premium partner of Scuderia Ferrari. Starting in the 2025 season, the banking group will appear on the Maranello team's cars, but the agreement goes beyond just a logo on the livery. The project opens the door to potential financial collaborations, as well as opportunities for their respective clients. To celebrate the agreement, a major event is already planned in Milan for early March, primarily aimed at fans.
The Agreement
The collaboration between Ferrari and UniCredit began in 2021 after a meeting between their respective CEOs, Benedetto Vigna and Andrea Orcel, unrelated to Ferrari's subsequent engagement of Lewis Hamilton. According to Orcel, the partnership will last 3-4 years, unless extended. Details about the agreement's financial figures remain undisclosed, with both CEOs calling it "a good investment." However, Benedetto Vigna emphasized that the collaboration is not purely financial: "The economic dimension of the partnership is secondary to the alignment of values."
The UniCredit logo will appear on the new car, whose livery will be revealed in London on February 18. Together, the banking group and the Maranello-based company will promote values of sustainability and inclusion, as well as offer various opportunities for their respective clients. The full scope of the collaboration is still to be explored, with Vigna mentioning "financial partnership opportunities yet to be defined."
A Major Event in March
Among the planned initiatives for Ferrari and UniCredit is the organization of events for fans. The first is scheduled for early March, in the window between the end of pre-season testing and the departure for the Australian Grand Prix, from March 1 to 10. It will be a large event featuring several key figures in the history of the Maranello team, with the press release describing it as an initiative "that will benefit the city and the motorsport-loving community."
"We are excited to embark on this important partnership with UniCredit, a bank that embodies the same spirit of innovation and excellence that defines our brand," said Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna. "Together with them, we will celebrate our history and continue to redefine the limits of what's possible in both racing and finance. This collaboration represents a further commitment to our clients, fans, and local communities, ensuring they are at the heart of every initiative. Together, we look to a future filled with passion and performance."
Echoing him, Andrea Orcel, CEO of UniCredit, added: "Our multi-year partnership with Ferrari marks a new phase of collaboration, building a bridge between the world of finance and racing, based on a shared commitment: to give the best for people, in the right way. By working together, we will provide excellent financial solutions that will help our clients and the communities we are part of to progress, and we will make sure to bring Ferrari fans even closer to the heart of the action."
