The FIA has officially confirmed the 2025 F1 calendar, along with significant changes for the next season, which will mark the 75th championship in F1 history. The calendar includes 24 races, starting in Australia on March 16 and ending in Abu Dhabi on December 7.

The season opener returns to Australia, which will also feature the much-anticipated debut of Lewis Hamilton driving for Ferrari. This adjustment allows Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, both scheduled for April after Ramadan, to revert to Sunday races.

"Calendar adjustments made in 2024 to create a better geographical flow for races have been carried over to 2025, with Japan scheduled for April following Australia and China," explained Mohammed Ben Sulayem. The first three races will be Australia, China, and Japan.

Additional highlights for the 2025 season

There will be two triple headers. The first includes the European races in Imola, Monaco, and Barcelona from May 16 to June 1. The second comes at the season's end with Miami, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi.

Qatar has been moved to November this season to avoid the intense heat experienced in Losail during the 2023 edition, which caused significant challenges for drivers and mechanics. By rescheduling it as the penultimate race, the desert heat will be less of a factor.

Another major update is the introduction of a double summer break. There will be a four-week pause in August between Hungary and the Netherlands and a three-week break in July between Silverstone and Spa. These breaks create two intervals during the hottest months of the year.
