The crashes and damage from the Brazilian GP significantly impacted the F1 "Destructors’ Championship" for 2024, with Ferrari dealing with Carlos Sainz's two incidents at the Interlagos circuit in Sao Paulo. In fact, data shows that Ferrari ranks third in the final standings.

Leading the "destructor" standings is Williams, with nearly 10 million dollars in damages. At the Brazilian GP alone, the British team spent almost 2.5 million dollars on repairs for their two cars. Following Williams is Red Bull, with nearly 6 million in damages, nearly 5 million of which were caused by Sergio Perez (first in the drivers' standings).

The 2024 F1 "Destructors’ Championship" for drivers and teams
In third place is Ferrari, with 4 million dollars in damages, forced to spend nearly 1.5 million in Brazil alone due to Carlos Sainz. The team with the least damage this season is McLaren, with less than 1 million dollars spent throughout the 2024 Formula 1 season on repairs due to crashes or various issues.

As for the drivers, Sergio Perez tops the list, as mentioned, with his incidents costing his team nearly 5 million dollars (with 2 million alone after his major crash at the Monaco GP).

Next in line are Alexander Albon, George Russell, and Logan Sargeant (despite being out of action for the last six races). Ferrari’s two drivers rank fifth and thirteenth on this unique list. Carlos Sainz is fifth with nearly 3 million in damages, almost half of which was spent in Brazil, while Charles Leclerc has just over a million.

Two surprising facts in this ranking are Pierre Gasly's presence at the very bottom, having caused no damage to his Alpine, and that the Brazilian GP alone caused teams a total of 5 million dollars in damages. Click here to see all the specific data provided by the FIA.
