Singapore and Ferrari's regrets
On a track like Marina Bay, the performance in the qualifying session is always very important, if not everything. Scuderia Ferrari knows this well, having benefited from it last year by capitalizing on Carlos Sainz’s pole position, but paid the price in the recent Grand Prix due to a disastrous Saturday.

In the race, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz did what they could, playing with strategy alongside the team, but starting from the fifth row without the help of a Safety Car made the podium almost impossible. Ferrari fans have been left wondering where the SF-24 would have finished with a decent qualifying, and the same question has been raised in the paddock.

Fernando Alonso's comments
Former Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso, who has never been shy about his opinions on the Italian side, believes the Maranello team had the pace to fight for the race victory in the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix: “Ferrari should have won this race,” he said in his post-race interview to the media after the race which was held at the 4.94-kilometre Marina Bay Street Circuit. “It was probably the fastest car of the weekend. My race wasn't with them, and finishing just a few seconds behind is positive.” – the Spaniard pointed out.

"I was behind the top four teams and ahead of Perez. Usually, ninth and tenth are the only spots available to us, so finishing eighth is better than we could have dreamed of," he added. "These are good points, but we were still lapped, and the car was difficult to drive all weekend. I think we need to raise our game now. We have some new parts coming in the next races, and we hope they will help us perform better." – the Aston Martin driver concluded at the end of the Singapore Grand Prix.
