The 2025 Ferrari F1 car will be an "all-new" machine, the result of knowledge gained over the past seasons, according to Vasseur.
Ferrari F1 2025, the new single-seater, will be completely new, as announced by Frédéric Vasseur. Named "Project 677," the car will be the first of the Lewis Hamilton era at Maranello. The Briton will debut at Fiorano in January to familiarize himself with the team and a car from previous seasons. The 2025 Ferrari, however, will be unveiled on February 19.
Anticipation is growing for the new season at Ferrari. During the traditional end-of-season lunch with the media, Frédéric Vasseur addressed all the most pressing and cherished topics for the Scuderia. From Lewis Hamilton's arrival to the onboarding of new engineers, there were also some early insights into the 2025 car. According to the Frenchman, it will be "all-new."
For months, there has been speculation about how much teams would focus on the upcoming season before shifting resources to the 2026 overhaul. Ferrari provides the first confirmation of what will likely be the approach of top teams: no sacrifices, at least initially, and a car that is different in almost all its components.
Ferrari's path to 2025 in F1 is set
Speaking about the new car, Frédéric Vasseur is clear: "If it will be competitive, we'll find out in Bahrain. Sometimes you don't realize you're taking risks until afterward. The car will be completely new; I think we'll have less than 1% of the parts in common with the 2024 car. It's a different project, but the same applies to everyone." – the French manager pointed out.
Regarding the Scuderia's prospects, the Frenchman outlined expectations to Mara Sangiorgio for Sky Sport F1: "We can't say now if 2025 will be our year, but I trust the project we're working on. It will still be an intense challenge like the one we just completed. I am very proud of how we tackled difficulties this year, but we must take another step toward consistency." – the Ferrari team boss concluded.
